Frequently asked questions
Everything indie devs ask before they trust a directory with their workflow - what Skillselion is, how listings are chosen, and how we keep the lights on without selling you out.
Skillselion is an independent, curated directory of skills, MCP servers and marketplaces for AI coding tools like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. It is organized around the indie journey - the workflow stages a solo builder actually moves through - so you can find the right tool for what you are doing right now.
No. Skillselion is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor, Claude, Claude Code, or Codex. All product names are referenced for identification only.
Listings are curated, not auto-scraped. Every listing is screened with frontier AI models against one quality bar - genuinely useful to indie developers, actively maintained, and safe to install - and our editors own what stays in the catalog. Anyone can suggest a tool, but it lands in a review queue rather than publishing instantly.
Browsing the directory, searching, voting and reading the weekly brief are free.
Every listing is scanned for safety before it appears, so you can install with more confidence.
No account is needed to browse, search or read. You only sign in if you want to vote or comment. You can sign in with email and password, or with GitHub where that is enabled.
Send us a note through the Feedback page. We would rather hear that something is wrong than leave a stale or misleading entry in the directory.
