What is AI text watermarking?
AI text watermarking hides a statistical signal in generated text by letting a secret key settle word choices that do not change the meaning. Whoever holds the key can measure the pattern and tell that a model probably wrote the passage, while a reader sees nothing unusual. Google DeepMind watermarks Gemini output, and Anthropic says future Claude models will carry one too.
