What is EU AI Act Article 50?
Article 50 of the EU AI Act sets transparency duties for AI that interacts with people or generates content. Article 50(2) requires providers to mark synthetic text, audio, image and video in a machine-readable, detectable format. The obligations apply from August 2, 2026, and are the reason Anthropic says future Claude models will watermark the text they write.
